A TRIBUNA, 130 YEARS THE FUTURE OF INFORMATION
In the year when the newspaper A Tribuna celebrates its 130th anniversary, the
Benedicto Calixto Art Museum Foundation in Santos is honored to present, in this
second edition of the Arte na Pinacoteca Project, the exhibition “A Tribuna, 130 years
– The future of information “.
Having far surpassed the basic journalistic task of collecting, investigating and
analyzing content for the production and distribution of its main communication
products, the Tribuna Group has become a paradigm of information, research,
dissemination and indispensable social, artistic and cultural service in its large São
Paulo State region.
To the extent that today’s A Tribuna offers numerous formats and platforms such as
print media, radio, TV and digital media that have developed in an integrated fashion,
enhanced with cyber technologies and artificial intelligence, it fulfills an ideal of
flexibility, adequacy and media/user interaction that bears the profile and inspiration
of contemporary culture, as can be seen in the images, texts and installations of the
present exhibition.
It is to this saga of the transformation of a newspaper into a powerful and
acknowledged journalistic group, and the reach and cultural value of its products and
actions, that the Benedicto Calixto Art Museum opens its doors.

[RÁDIO]
11 PAINEL 10 KM TRIBUNA FM
Held since 1986, 10 KM Tribuna FM is one of Brazil’s most traditional road running events, attracting about 20,000 runners annually.
Between participants and spectators, the race takes an average of 50,000 people
to the streets of Santos, infusing the city with energy and enthusiasm.
Illustrious runners have passed through here, like Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima,
Marílson Gomes dos Santos and Franck Caldeira – outstanding athletes in the national sports scene.
In addition to promoting sports and health, the event has a significant impact on the local economy, boosting tourism and the services sector.
10 KM Tribuna FM is a milestone in the country’s sports calendar, celebrating the importance of road running and the community spirit.
14 PAINEL DISCO
To bring music and high spirits to the entire state coast, from Peruíbe to São Sebastião, is Tri FM’s mission. The first waves were broadcast live to the entire coast of São Paulo State on May 10, 1981. The then-called Rádio Tribuna FM operated, in principle, on the 104.1 MHz frequency. A year later, the station switched to its current 105.5 MHz.
The most played style was pop music. Over the years, always tuned in to musical trends, Tri FM has been molding itself and adding new hits to its "playlist", until reaching the “popular hits style”, that is, the station plays the styles most consumed by the majority of the population.
In 2005, Rádio Tribuna was renamed Tri FM, always renewing itself and innovating. In 2019 it gained new headquarters, which also harbor the studios of Tribuna TV (affiliated to Globo Network), A Tribuna newspaper, G1 Santos and A Tribuna online. Since then, under new artistic direction and the union of the Tribuna Group,
Tri FM brought more journalism to the programming.
In 2021, after 24 years, Tri FM once again became the number one station in the Baixada Santista area according to a Kantar Ibope survey, a position confirmed in surveys carried out in 2023 and 2024.
Currently 378,000 listeners are reached weekly, with a successful programming infused with good humor, good company and the best promotions.
08 [INTERNET]
THE FUTURE OF INFORMATION
In the age of ever-faster and global internet, the Tribuna Group websites connect the region to the world, offering quality, up-to-date and agile content.
With the evolution of the internet, the group’s digital outlets have adapted themselves to deliver news in a quick and accessible way, always with credibility.
The story began in 1996 with the launch of atribuna.com.br, a pioneer in the Baixada Santista region.
At the time, when the internet was starting in Brazil, the website stood out for its agility in providing regional information.
Over the years, atribuna.com.br has consolidated itself on topics such as the Port of Santos, the economy and sports, and in 2020 it implemented Dynamic Paywall,
offering exclusive content to subscribers and keeping part of the content open to the public.
G1 Santos started in 2012, during the internet boom. It quickly established itself as
the most visited among Globo Network affiliates, covering the Baixada Santista and Vale do Ribeira regions.
With innovations such as G1 em 1 Minuto Santos and the Baixada em Pauta podcast, the website keeps the public informed in a practical and fast way.
GE Santos, also launched in 2012, brings complete sports coverage, with emphasis on Santos FC and other local soccer teams. The site covers large
sporting events, keeping readers updated in real time.
These websites reinforce Tribuna Group’s tradition of offering quality information, with professionals constantly updated through the new tools available and artificial intelligence, but maintaining the group’s most valuable asset: audience trust.
09 A TRIBUNA
The 28-year-old website atribuna.com.br is a pioneer in the Baixada Santista area, taking our region’s news to the world. Since 1996, it gathers information on all cities of the São Paulo State coast and has become a reference for those who want to know what happens in this area.
In addition to local news, the website gives special emphasis to the Port of Santos, the largest port in the Southern Hemisphere, accounting for 30% of Brazil’s trade of balance. Tribuna online follows the events at the Santos pier and organizes year-round important events to discuss the sector’s challenges and changes.
Recently, the website implemented a novelty: The Port news is also available in English, and is visited abroad by those who want to follow what goes on in Brazil.
When it comes to soccer, the website is also on the ball. Tribuna online closely followed all the triumphs of Santos’ soccer team (Santos FC), such as the three-time Libertadores championship in 2011 and the World Cup in Japan. In addition to sports, the website brings daily news on cities, tourism, the economy, varieties and much more.
In 2020, it implemented the Dynamic Paywall system, which separates exclusive content for subscribers and keeps part of it open to the general public.
The website’s success lies in the impartiality and credibility formula in the tradition of the A Tribuna newspaper, with its 130-year history. In recent years,
digital and print newsrooms have joined to deliver the best content, regardless of platform.
G1 SANTOS E REGIÃO
G1 was launched in Santos on May 11, 2012 and, since then, has consolidated itself as the most visited among all Globo Network affiliates.
In 2021, it reached the impressive mark of 1.5 billion pageviews, demonstrating
the website’s impact in the region.
With G1 Santos being so successful, Globo Network started to invite Tribuna TV
to participate in its pioneering projects.
On March 14, 2016, G1 em1 Minuto Santos debuted on Tribuna TV’s grid, being shown three times a day, a first among affiliates. In November 2020, during the covid pandemic and the podcast boom,
G1 Santos launched the Baixada em Pauta podcast, the first of its kind among Globo's affiliates.
The podcast discusses the main issues pertaining to the São Paulo state coast,
keeping the public well informed in a practical way.
Over the years, G1 Santos has become one of the most sought-after gateways
for Baixada Santista journalists.
In 2014, it won the Globo Journalism Award for the coverage of the plane crash that killed Eduardo Campos in Santos. The website also gained a bigger slot in Tribuna TV’s programming, with daily spots on the news and features such as Cozinha #013, which highlights regional cuisine.
Today, G1 Santos publishes content about the nine cities in the Baixada Santista area and 20 municipalities of Vale do Ribeira and Alto Ribeira regions, with emphasis on cities, politics and crime matters.
In addition to informing, G1 Santos provides a great opportunity for those wishing to associate their brand to the largest news site in Brazil, reaching a qualified and diverse audience.
GE SANTOS
GE Santos, formerly known as globoesporte.com, started at Baixada Santista and Vale do Ribeira on May 11, 2012. Since then, it has accumulated over 1.3 billion pageviews, with emphasis on news on the Santos FC soccer team, Portuguesa Santista, Jabaquara and other sports modalities in the region.
GE Santos' coverage is a world reference, bringing the main information on Santos FC
always ahead of other websites. In addition, the platform stands out for its “RTs”, the matches of Brazil’s biggest teams covered in real time, a big hit among fans.
The Santos team of GE Santos has already been awarded several times,
both internally by Globo Network as well as by the São Paulo State association of
sports journalists (ACEESP). And it does not restrict itself to local coverage: the
website’s journalists follow our athletes at major sporting events around the
world, such as the Olympics and World Cups.
Since coming to the region, GE Santos has been present in historical moments,
such as Neymar’s European soccer debut in Barcelona and coverage of the Bosnian national team, housed in Guarujá during the 2014 World Cup.
The website is also the digital arm of Tribuna TV’s sports programs, such as Tribuna Esporte.
Since 2012, athletes from different sports modalities have in GE Santos an exclusive platform to advertise themselves, taking advantage of the brand’s strength to gain visibility.
Currently, GE Santos continues to closely follow the region’s main teams and athletes, specially Santos FC, which has its own team to cover its daily routine and provide real-time information.
